We have officially passed the one month mark from Charlie's back surgery. Daddy had been in severe pain for over 6 months, it went from bad to worse very quickly. Turned out it was a herniated disk (a very herniated disk once they got in there). While this isn't considered "major" back surgery, it was still back surgery none the less. Which meant no lifting of kids for almost a month. We knew the first couple weeks post surgery would be challenging with two toddlers and an out of commission Daddy, but we didn’t realize how challenging it really would be. Daddy still has a little back discomfort at the surgery site and has to be careful with how he lifts and bends (and no exercise until after Christmas) but for the most part we have a healthy and pain free Daddy back!!! Yippie!
Now onto the family and friends part. We (literally) would not have survived those first few weeks without our absolutely amazing family and friends. Between the help with Connor and Layla and meals brought to the house we were so fortunate and thankful for these wonderful people in our lives. Truly blessed. Thank you beyond words!
