So, I have finally decided to start a blog! My husband is a little skeptical...but I think (and will try to prove to him) it is so worth it to capture and share the fun, exciting, crazy, interesting, silly, laugh-out-loud, and everything in between times. I have been reading blogs for a while now...most of people I know but some of people I have never met before. I've done my research (and used some of your blogs out there as a guide:) and created the one that works for me! I don't own a fancy camera, don’t regularly craft (although if I had the time would one day love to!) but we have fun, play hard and create our own exciting world!
Charlie and I, from day one, have taken the road less traveled (which is sometimes the road filled with potholes, speed bumps and lots of curve) but we honestly wouldn't have it any other way. We believe it has produced one heck of a strong marriage and two absolutely amazing and hilarious children. Don't get me wrong, there are days (as you will see) we are very much the "traditional" and "normal" family but more often than not we like to break the "normal" mode...because, well, life is just more fun that way!!
The love we have for each other and our children is beyond anything we could have ever imagined and I am excited to share a little bit of our world with you.

My Beautiful Babies
Layla
I think Layla will one day be known by just that…”Layla.” Like Madonna or Cher or Gandhi (ok, that may be a little bit of a stretch)…you know, those people who are recognized by just their first name, that’s going to be Layla.
Layla is by far the most entertaining and hilarious child I (and for most that have the privilege of spending time with her) have ever met…ever! I don’t know if words could even describe or give justice to the level of entertainment she provides on a daily basis.
Between the singing, dancing, batting of eyelashes, imitating of verybig (beyond her years) words, they way she hysterically and uncontrollably laughs at her brother, Daddy and Mommy, the hilarious things she yells out from her crib when she is supposed to be sleeping, her desire to strip naked every chance she gets, her intense love for Grandaddy (and Jack), her intense love for cake (and most good food for that matter), and just her general movements, interactions and words….there is never a dull moment and rarely a moment where you can be in a room with her and not smile. Oh and did I mention her kissing obsession (please let this only be a phaseJ). She LOVES to give kisses…mainly to Mommy, Daddy and Grandparents but we recently got a report that she often (and he returns the favor) shares lots of kisses with her buddy, Liam at Miss Lulu’s house. Oh Layla, what are we gonna do with you! From the moment she wakes up (I don’t know that she has ever woken up in a grumpy mood) to the moment she falls asleep, it is pure entertainment. We love her beyond words! Our little Layla.
Connor
Connor is our cautious, intuitive, extremely caring and deep thinker. That’s my Connor. Where Layla will jump without looking, Connor will inspect the entire area; make sure everything is safe and clear, and then proceed (slowly) to his destination, all the while holding the hand of Mommy or his friend next to him to make sure they stay safe as well. Connor always makes sure Layla or Mommy is not left behind when we are leaving to go somewhere and our fast paced Daddy is starting up the car before we are in it. If Connor has juice or a snack, he always makes sure Layla has one as well.
He is very detailed and concentrated with his play (again, completely different that his sister). He will sit and play for extended periods of time with just a couple of toys, if left alone. He inspects them, learns all he can about them, talks to them and gets every last bit of play a child can out of them. He also loves to construct and build. His Nana Kat is a retired school teacher and has a huge bin of the little (big kid) legos. He discovered them one day and sat at her house building with the tiny legos (that much older children often have a hard time manipulating and building with) and was in absolute heaven, building and discovering. He also has a memory like no other, its blows me away sometimes.
Don’t get me wrong….Connor is a total 3 year old boy a lot of the time…running, laughing, wrestling, climbing….but he has an understanding and thoughtfulness about him that is definitely unique to his little ol’ age of 3! Oh, how we love him! Our sweet Connor.
